The Name
A deeper look at meanings
With no doubt, Allelujah Haptism’s name is a play on words of Hallelujah Baptism. And both variations are connected to western civilization. Hallelujah comes from a Hebrew phrase that means, “Praise Yah” or more commonly known as “Praise the lord.” In its latin form, it is spelled “Alleluia,” which is a religous chant with relations to Theo Kyrios (and we all know why Kyrios should be familiar to us).
Baptism, on the other hand, many will know as the sacred ritual into full membership of a church. There is not much variation in this matter.
Unlike Lockon Stratos, whose code name has clear relation to his Meister duties, Allelujah’s name is connected to a lot of holy words. Perhaps this suggests Allelujah holds some righteous beliefs in relation to his role as a Gundam Meister. I can’t say too much on this matter, since I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to religous matters.
Some interesting details to note, “Allelujah” was the name of the second track of Recoil’s album subHuman as well as the title of the fourth track of K.I.A.’s album Adieu Shinjuku Zulu. No but really, I’m not at all amused by the “subhuman” part. At all, ahaha. Though I am absolutely horrified at the “K.I.A.” part.
