Secrets of the past

Born and raised in the HRL, Allelujah was a subject in its Super Soldier Project. Most likely he is an orphan, like the rest of the children there who do not have homes to return to. After joining Celestial Being, and as an adult realizes the Super Soldier Project is active, he proposes to Sumeragi, the tactician, his plan to destroy the Project base. It was an abomination he could not alow to continue, even if it meant killing the current subjects of the experiments. As uncaring to the lives of others Hallelujah appears to be, he is seen shedding tears as he views the destruction and loss of lives.

With that tie broken, the only other remaining Super Soldier test subject, Soma Peries, swore to avenge the lives lost. And their paths would cross again and again. Soma saw no wrong in the Project, only viewing herself as the soldier she was made to be. Allelujah, on the other hand, detested what they willing to do in order to have “perfect” soldiers. As fierce as their rivalry went, it was only Hallelujah who really fought her, since Allelujah was always crippled by her augmented brain waves.

The irony came when Allelujah finally realize just who Soma Peries was. She was Marie, someone Allelujah held dear to him from his days in the Project. Hallelujah, who knew all along, kept this from his other self knowing it was the only way to fight her, and survive.

In previews of season two, Allelujah is presumably held captive or was held captive by the HRL. Perhaps we’ll find out just who is Marie, and how close they used to be. Does she remember any of it?
